NGARAI SIANOK GEOPARK – A REVIEW IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE AREA INTO A ‘NGARAI SIANOK NATURAL CAMPUS”

STTIND Padang collaborates with the Ngarai Sianok Geopark – Maninjau in developing the area into a 'Ngarai Sianok natural campus" which has become a national geological heritage. So that academic activities are integrated in the area.

Also on December 1, the Enhai Halal Tourism Center Team of the College of Tourism / EHTC STP Bandung, totalling 5 people, in collaboration with Bank Indonesia, located at Canyon Jungle Ecology, Ngarai Sianok, Kayu Kubu Bukittinggi Wards, conducted an Observation of Tourism Conditions.

This activity was also attended by STTIND Padang Lecturers and also the Chair of the Ngarai Sianok National Geopark Working Group Team - Maninjau Ahmad Fadhly., ST.MT, Economics Staff of the West Sumatra Bappeda, Member of the Bukittinggi City DPRD Novi Chandra Zubir, Expert Staff to the Governor of West Sumatra Zuhrizul, Chair of Timber Tourism Kayu Kubu Eril Anwar, Chairman of Pokdarwis Kayu Kubu Roni Putra, Lurah Kayu Kubu Fery, Chairman of HPI Bukittinggi 2018 – 2021 Edwar Ardi, Chairman of HPI Kota Bukittinggi 2021 – 2024 Boy Ichlas and Head of Tourism & Creative Economy Disparpora Bukittinggi Tasman., S.Sos.

This activity was carried out in an effort to identify the management and physical conditions of tourist village products and to integrate them with education-based tourism. This is a priority for the Padang Industrial Technology College campus in supporting geoparks in West Sumatra so that they can innovate together with the community in regional development.
